Conveyor system Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI

Full-time degreed engineers with at least 5 years of warehouse layout and engineering experience with material handling systems. Responsibilities Analyze customer data and develop cost-effective material handling solutions using company?s technology Interact with customers to evaluate needs by reviewing their current processes and material flow Develop customer layouts using AutoCAD Prepare customer proposalsRequired Qualifications Associates or Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or a related field Good working knowledge of warehousing, distribution, automatic palletizing, material handling systems engineering and racking layouts, selection, and implementation. Strong analytical skills. Effective communicator at all levels of the organization (both written and oral). Must be detail-oriented. Proficient use of AutoCAD to generate layouts Ability to travel to customer sites in the U.S. (approx. 20% total travel).Job Family ResponsibilitiesCompletes the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software. Completes complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up. Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction. Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design. Coordinates and engineers multiple projects simultaneously. Acts as project manager (practioner) for projects, sometimes in excess of $1M. Education Bachelor?s degree in Engineering required, mechanical or industrial engineering degree preferred.
